Surgical Suite Initiative

The Surgical Suite Initiative is the first major renovation and expansion in more than forty years of NYEE’s surgical facilities. It will transform the way NYEE provides patient care and help meet ever-escalating community demand for the full spectrum of NYEE surgical specialties in ophthalmology, otolaryngology and plastic and reconstructive surgery. In the last five years, NYEE surgical volume has increased twenty-three percent. This demand is sure to grow, as changes in New York City’s medical environment continue to reduce patient options for critical care.

The Surgical Suite Initiative will add new and renovate current NYEE operating rooms and make the surgical experience more family- and child-friendly. It includes a waiting room for parents for children in surgery and individual pediatric post-surgery recovery bays, among other state-of-the-art enhancements and technology upgrades.

This project is integral to NYEE’s dynamic growth leading to our 200th anniversary in 2020 and the start of our third century of service.
